Add a little spice to your Valentine’s Day dinner date this year. Cantina Laredo in River North will offer a three course, Valentine’s prix fixe menu ($35 per person) from February 13 to February 15. Chef Kennon Reed’s selections, outlined below, include mango salad, roasted red pepper soup, sauteed shrimp with spicy mango mole, ancho chile-rubbed chicken, filet mignon, strawberry bunuelos and churros.

Each course may be paired with a cocktail (Peach Berry Flaca Flip; Passion Fruit Margarita; and Heart Warmer) for an additional $15 per person.

Mango with jicama, seasoned pumpkin seeds, grapes, mint and queso fresco with a honey vinaigrette

SOPA DE PIMIENTO
Creamy roasted red pepper soup topped with almonds and queso fresco

Cocktail Pairing: PEACH BERRY FLACA FLIP

Hornitos Plata Tequila and fresh lime juice with peach syrup and triple sec, topped with club soda and a strawberry flip of DeKuyper Strawberry Pucker

Sauteed shrimp with spicy mango mole sauce

POLLO ANCHO
Ancho chile rubbed chicken breast with a chipotle rancho sauce, topped with grilled asparagus and roasted red pepper

FILET NEGRO PEPPERCORN
7 oz. Certified Angus Beef  filet mignon topped with black peppercorn dijon sauce

PASSION FRUIT MARGARITA
Herradura Silver Tequila, passion fruit syrup, fresh lime
