Chicago’s most popular food trucks will join some of Chicago’s most respected chefs and restaurants at this year’s Chicago Food Social, which has expanded to two days. On August 23rd and 24th inside the spacious parking lot at Kendall College (900 N. Branch), over 20,000 foodies are expected to attend the weekend festivities benefitting EverThrive “Champions for Healthy Communities” in Illinois, a non-profit that works to improve the health of women, children, and families around the state. The unique end-of-summer festival mixes great food with culinary activities and live music in an affordable and accessible style.
Presented by the West Town Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Food Social 2014 features popular local food trucks and a hand selected group of restaurant vendors. The superb culinary skills from some of the top students at nationally acclaimed Kendall College will be on display too, along with a program featuring demonstrations by high profile Chicago chefs and live music programmed by Empty Bottle.
“Chicago Food Social offers something fresh and different to cap off summer fest season,” said West Town Chamber executive director Kara Salgado. “We combine the popularity of pop-up restaurants, celebrity chefs and food trucks with the established Chicago street fest model.”
