Although you might not recognize his name, if you’ve seen any Sam Adams commercial, you’ve seen his bearded face. Bob Cannon is master brewer at the Boston Beer Company and probably one of the most prominent beer icons in the country. On Tuesday, September 9th, Bob will bring some of his favorite Sam Adams products to Dunlay’s on the Square (address info below) to personally lead Chicagoans through a special beer garden dinner.
Beginning at 6 pm (and running to 9 pm), Bob will meet, mingle and walk beer lovers through four of Sam Adams best beers paired to a four-course seasonal menu prepared by 4-Star corporate chef Kevin Ives. Instead of your typical sit-down pairing dinner, Dunlay’s is transforming its spacious patio digs into a boisterous beer garden, intact with food and beer stations, high top tables, lanterns, drinkin’ music and more…

About Bob Cannon:
Bob Cannon has been behind the brew kettles at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery since 1994. On his first day, the brewers gave Bob a 6-pack of beer to take home, and he’s been back every day since. During Bob’s career as a brewer at Samuel Adams, he has been a mainstay at the Boston Brewery assisting the team in coming up with new and exciting brews. Bob also leads the Beer Certification Program, which every Samuel Adams employee must complete upon joining the company. If Bob had one beer to take with him on a desert island, he’d bring his favorite, Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Luckily, Bob is NOT stranded on a desert island, and is able to regularly enjoy his other favorite brew, Samuel Adams Irish Red, a personal pet project of Bob’s inspired by his Irish heritage. Irish Red was the 2007 Samuel Adams Beer Love’s Choice Contest winner, making it a full-time member of the Samuel Adams family of beers, an honor Bob says was “no luck of the Irish.” When he’s not in the brewery, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey (Go Bruins!), drinking beer, and cooking with beer.
